Vape Nicotine Strength Guide for the UAE: 2mg, 6mg, 20mg and 50mg Disposables Explained
By the Global Vape Dubai product team · Reviewed 26 October 2026 · Next review 26 November 2026 · 14 min read
For adult nicotine users only. If you don’t use nicotine, don’t start. Nicotine is addictive.
The short answer
Nicotine strength is the amount of nicotine in each millilitre of e-liquid, written either as mg/ml or as a percentage. To convert, multiply the percentage by 10: 0.2% is 2mg/ml, 0.6% is 6mg/ml, 2% is 20mg/ml and 5% is 50mg/ml. Strength tells you how concentrated the liquid is; it does not tell you how much nicotine the whole device holds (that depends on the tank) or how many puffs it gives. UAE sellers often disagree about strength for the same device, so always check the strength printed on the pack before you buy.

1. How nicotine strength is written
There are two systems, and many packs use both.
| Written as | Means | Same as |
|---|---|---|
| mg/ml | milligrams of nicotine in each millilitre of liquid | percentage × 10 |
| % | percentage of the liquid that is nicotine | mg/ml ÷ 10 |
Cheat sheet
| Percentage | mg/ml | A device we stock at this strength |
|---|---|---|
| 0.2% | 2mg/ml | Kief Lion 60000 |
| 0.3% | 3mg/ml | Kief King 35000 |
| 0.6% | 6mg/ml | Al Fakher Mega Max 40000, E-Hose X 60000 |
| 2% | 20mg/ml | Ghost Pro 3500, Pod Salt Pearl Pro 10000, Malaki Flonq Max Smart |
| 5% | 50mg/ml | Elf Bar BC10000, Tugboat T12000 |
The two most common mistakes
- Mixing up 2mg and 2%. 2% is 20mg/ml, ten times stronger than 2mg/ml.
- Reading “mg” as the total in the device. “20mg” on a pack almost always means 20mg per millilitre, not 20mg in the whole device.
2. Salt nicotine vs freebase nicotine
Both are nicotine; the difference is the chemical form in the liquid.
| Freebase nicotine | Nicotine salt (“nic salt”) | |
|---|---|---|
| How it feels | Harsher on the throat as strength rises | Smoother at higher strengths |
| Typical use | Lower strengths | Higher strengths in compact pod-style devices |
| Seen in the UAE | Often in direct-to-lung (DTL) devices at low strength | Often in mouth-to-lung (MTL) disposables at 20mg and 50mg |
What the evidence says, and where it disagrees
- A randomised crossover study from the University of Bern gave 20 non-naïve participants three e-liquids with a standard puffing protocol (10 puffs, one every 30 seconds). At the same 20mg/ml, the salt gave a higher median peak blood nicotine than freebase (5.4 vs 3.0ng/ml), and a 40mg/ml salt gave a median of 12.0ng/ml, which the authors described as similar to cigarette smoking. Read the study abstract.
- A conference abstract (Tobacco Science Research Conference, 2022) from a different group reported plasma levels were proportional to strength regardless of salt or freebase in an in-patient study. Read the abstract.
- A small US survey of 118 adult regular users who submitted photos of their liquids found a median labelled strength of 50mg/ml for salt and 4.5mg/ml for freebase. See the poster.
What we take from this: studies don’t agree on whether the form changes delivery, but they agree on the main point: strength matters, and high-strength salts can deliver nicotine at levels comparable to cigarettes in a lab setting. That is why a 50mg device is not “just a stronger version” of a 20mg one. These are small studies using refillable pods, not disposables, so they illustrate the principle rather than measure any device we sell.
3. Why UAE listings disagree
When we read UAE seller listings for the devices in this guide, we found conflicting strengths for the same product. The causes are usually:
- A typo or copied text. One listing for a 0.6% device writes “0.6mg”, dropping the “per ml” meaning and the zero.
- A missing zero. The Kief Lion 60000 appears as 2mg on some listings and 20mg on others: a ten-fold difference.
- Regional versions. The same Al Fakher device appears internationally at 0.5% and in some UAE listings at other strengths.
- Different batches. A seller may describe an older or different version.
How to resolve it: ignore the listing, and read the pack. Ask the seller for a photo of the strength label on the stock you will receive. At Global Vape Dubai we show the strength we sell in each product’s specification table and explain the difference where sellers disagree.
4. The strength ladder for the devices we stock
The labels “very low”, “low”, “moderate” and “high” below are our own descriptions for comparing these devices, not regulatory categories.
| Level | Strength | Device | Tank | Price (26 Oct 2026) |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Very low | 2mg (0.2%) | Kief Lion 60000 | 26ml | AED 55 |
| Very low | 3mg (0.3%) | Kief King 35000 | see page | AED 45 |
| Low | 6mg (0.6%) | Al Fakher Mega Max 40000 | 30ml | AED 40 |
| Low | 0.6% Metatine | Al Fakher E-Hose X 60000 | 50ml | AED 55 |
| Moderate | 20mg (2%) | Ghost Pro 3500 | 10ml | AED 35 |
| Moderate | 20mg (2%) | Pod Salt Pearl Pro 10000 | 10ml | AED 40 |
| Moderate | 20mg (2%) | Malaki Flonq Max Smart | 14ml | AED 40 |
| High | 50mg (5%) | Elf Bar BC10000 | 18ml | AED 35 |
| High | 50mg (5%) | Tugboat T12000 | 24ml | AED 40 |
About Metatine: the E-Hose X uses Metatine, Al Fakher’s brand name for 6-methylnicotine, a synthetic nicotine analogue. It is a different compound from nicotine, so its “6mg” shouldn’t be compared directly with nicotine milligrams. Treat it as a nicotine-type product for adult users only.

5. Total nicotine in one device
Total nicotine (mg) = tank size (ml) × strength (mg/ml)
| Device | Calculation | Total in the device |
|---|---|---|
| Kief Lion 60000 | 26ml × 2mg | about 52mg |
| Al Fakher Mega Max 40000 | 30ml × 6mg | about 180mg |
| Al Fakher E-Hose X 60000 | 50ml × 6mg (Metatine) | about 300mg |
| Ghost Pro 3500 | 10ml × 20mg | about 200mg |
| Pod Salt Pearl Pro 10000 | 10ml × 20mg | about 200mg |
| Malaki Flonq Max Smart | 14ml × 20mg | about 280mg |
| Elf Bar BC10000 | 18ml × 50mg | about 900mg |
| Tugboat T12000 | 24ml × 50mg | about 1,200mg |
Worked example. The Tugboat T12000 holds 24ml at 50mg/ml. 24 × 50 = 1,200mg. The Kief Lion holds 26ml at 2mg/ml. 26 × 2 = 52mg. The Tugboat holds about 23 times more nicotine, although its tank is slightly smaller.
Why this matters: a single sealed device can contain several hundred to over a thousand milligrams. That is a poisoning risk for children and pets, which is why the safety section below matters.
6. Nicotine per rated puff
Nicotine per rated puff (mg) = total nicotine ÷ rated puffs
| Device | Total | Rated puffs | Per rated puff |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kief Lion 60000 | 52mg | 60,000 | about 0.001mg |
| Al Fakher Mega Max 40000 | 180mg | 40,000 | about 0.005mg |
| Al Fakher E-Hose X 60000 (Metatine) | 300mg | 60,000 | about 0.005mg |
| Pod Salt Pearl Pro 10000 | 200mg | 10,000 | about 0.02mg |
| Malaki Flonq Max Smart | 280mg | 10,000 | about 0.03mg |
| Ghost Pro 3500 | 200mg | 3,500 | about 0.06mg |
| Elf Bar BC10000 | 900mg | 10,000 | about 0.09mg |
| Tugboat T12000 | 1,200mg | 12,000 | about 0.10mg |
How to read it: a 20mg device with a small rating (Ghost Pro 3500) holds more nicotine behind each rated puff than a 6mg device with a very large rating (Mega Max), roughly twelve times more. The 50mg devices hold the most. Caveats: this uses manufacturers’ puff ratings, which are estimates, and it describes the liquid, not how much you absorb. Absorption depends on how you draw. Use it to compare, not to predict your intake.
7. Choosing responsibly
We can’t tell you which strength is right for you, and we won’t pretend a chart can. These points are general.
- If you don’t use nicotine, don’t start. None of these products is for non-users.
- Match what you already use. Don’t step up. A higher strength is a different experience, not a better one.
- Beware the “bigger is better” instinct. A device that lasts for months doesn’t mean you should use more of it.
- If you want to quit smoking, ask a doctor or pharmacist about approved options. We make no claim that any disposable vape helps you quit or is safer than any other product.
- Speak to a doctor first if you are pregnant or breastfeeding, have a heart condition, or take regular medication.
- Rules change. Vaping rules in the UAE are set by federal and emirate authorities. Check the current rules and the legal age where you live.
8. A 10-point label check
Before you buy from any seller, check these:
- Strength per ml, written as mg/ml or %. Not just “mg”.
- Is “2” mg or %? 2% = 20mg/ml.
- Tank size (ml). Needed to work out the total.
- Nicotine form (salt or freebase), if stated.
- Brand and model match the product page (for example, “Kief Lion 60000”, not “Keif Lion”).
- Sealed packaging with no damage.
- A photo of the pack’s strength label from the seller, if the listing is unclear.
- A consistent price. A price far below the market for a 60,000-puff device is a warning sign.
- No unrealistic delivery or health promises. “Delivered in 30 minutes” and “safe” are red flags.
- A way to reach the seller (a WhatsApp number or address you can verify) if the pack differs from the listing.
9. Six myths and facts
| Myth | Fact |
|---|---|
| “More puffs means more nicotine.” | Puff count and strength are independent. A 60,000-puff device can be 2mg/ml, and a 3,500-puff device can be 20mg/ml. |
| “2mg and 2% are the same.” | 2% is 20mg/ml, ten times 2mg/ml. |
| “20mg on the pack is the total in the device.” | It is almost always per millilitre. |
| “Salt and freebase at the same mg/ml feel and act the same.” | Studies disagree on delivery, but salt is generally smoother at high strength. |
| “A low-strength device is harmless.” | Any nicotine product is addictive, and a large tank still holds a lot of nicotine. |
| “All sellers sell the same strength.” | UAE listings often differ. Read the pack. |
10. Safety at home
- Children and pets: a device can hold 50 to over 1,000mg of nicotine. Store it out of reach, in a closed container.
- If someone swallows a device, the liquid or a part of it, or the liquid touches skin or eyes, contact a doctor or emergency services immediately.
- Batteries: use a standard USB-C cable, don’t leave a charging device unattended, and stop using a swollen or hot device.
- Disposal: don’t throw used devices in household waste. Take them to an electronics or battery recycling point where available.
- Don’t refill or open a sealed disposable.
11. Nicotine pouches use a different unit
Pouches are measured in mg per pouch, not mg/ml. Our VELO nicotine pouches range from 4mg to 17mg per pouch, so a “17mg” pouch and a “20mg/ml” vape can’t be compared directly. They are for adult nicotine users only.
Frequently asked questions
What does 2mg mean on a vape?
2mg of nicotine per millilitre of e-liquid, which equals 0.2%. It is a very low strength. Check whether the pack says “2mg” or “2%”, because 2% means 20mg/ml.
Is 2mg the same as 2%?
No. 2% is 20mg/ml, ten times stronger than 2mg/ml (0.2%).
What is the difference between 2mg and 20mg?
Ten times the concentration. A 26ml device at 2mg/ml holds about 52mg in total; a 10ml device at 20mg/ml holds about 200mg.
How many mg is a 5% vape?
50mg/ml. Multiply the percentage by 10.
Is 50mg strong?
It is a high strength. In one lab study, a 40mg/ml salt delivered blood nicotine levels similar to cigarette smoking, so 50mg is not a mild option. It is for adult nicotine users only.
What is the difference between nic salt and freebase?
They are two chemical forms of nicotine. Salts feel smoother at high strength and are common at 20mg and 50mg; freebase is harsher at high strength and is usually used at lower strengths. Studies differ on whether they deliver different amounts at the same strength.
Does more puffs mean more nicotine?
No. Strength and puff rating are independent. Compare the strength per ml and the tank size.
How much nicotine is in a whole disposable?
Multiply tank size by strength: for example, 24ml × 50mg/ml = 1,200mg.
Why do UAE sellers list different strengths for the same device?
Typos, missing zeros, copied text, regional versions and different batches. Always read the strength on the pack you receive.
How can I check the strength of the vape I’m buying?
Look at the pack, not the listing. Ask the seller for a photo of the strength label. Use the 10-point label check above.
What is Metatine?
Al Fakher’s brand name for 6-methylnicotine, a synthetic nicotine analogue used in the E-Hose X. It is a different compound from nicotine, so don’t compare its milligrams directly with nicotine milligrams.
Are nicotine pouches measured the same way?
No. Pouches are measured in mg per pouch, not mg/ml.
How we made this guide, and its limits
- Devices, tank sizes and strengths come from the specifications on our product pages and from UAE retailer listings. Where sellers disagree, we use the strength of the stock we sell and say so.
- Calculations (total nicotine, nicotine per rated puff) are arithmetic from those figures. They are not laboratory measurements.
- Prices are Global Vape Dubai’s prices on 26 October 2026 and change. Check the product page for today’s price.
- Research is cited above with links. The Bern study used 20 participants and a refillable pod, the conference item is an abstract, and the survey is small. None measures a disposable we sell.
- We are a retailer, not a laboratory. We don’t claim health benefits for any product.
- Corrections: if you find an error, message us on WhatsApp (+971526418545) and we will fix it and note the date.
- Reviewed monthly. The next review is 26 November 2026.
